We are the Alexiev family and this is our travel log / arts & technology blog. In a nut shell we are two IT professionals with passion for photography and art. Always with us is our our biggest pride and joy – our son. We live to travel and explore the world together as a family. Both of us were born in eastern Europe (Bulgaria and Ukraine to be exact). Our son was born in the United States. We all share the same values, interests and desire to see and experience more cultures, places, countries and continents.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover!
The idea for the blog was born from our inability to remember and keep track of where have we been and what have we done. We just found ourselves constantly trying to recall things we did and places we visited and not being able to quickly find the details. Once you start traveling frequently it really gets tricky to remember things. We often asked ourselves: What did we do there? Where did we stay? How was the food? We just never remembered the little details and as it turned out they were quite useful to document.
Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore
Life goes by fast and it became apparent to us we needed something to keep track of it. Our adventures are integral part of who we are and we wanted to make sure we record as much as possible for us mainly. If this ends up helping others in the process that is awesome but first and fore-most this blog was build for our family. Another huge reason was to make sure our son not only grows through those adventures but also has them documented. We hope that one day he would continue this practice with his family and children.
We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us
As a result of that most of the posts are short and filled with a good amount of pictures, maps and links to hotels and tours. The hotel links are there for us to make sure we keep track of where we stayed etc for future reference. Some of the links are affiliate links and they are there to help support the site and the time we spent keeping it running and updated.
Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer
Thanks for reading and we sincerely hope you will enjoy your time on our travel log / blog.
